2 Maritime shipping container repairs recently carried out by DEUFOL:
Project 1: repair of a damaged 20-ft shipping container in the port of Antwerp.
Due to high internal pressure, the container walls were bulging and the sea container threatened to burst open. The 20 feet shipping container was blocked for further transport. Welding on the damaged shipping container was prohibited due to fire hazard.
The DEUFOL solution and method
Design and production of a steel frame to strengthen the walls of the shipping container. A frame that could be placed around the shipping container without welding or grinding. This was prohibited.
On-site assembly of the steel frame around the shipping container to prevent it from bursting open.
Project 2: repair of a damaged transport frame on a 20’ tank container, blocked at the port terminal.
The transport frame of a 20’ tank container filled with a hazardous liquid was damaged. Due to the unsafe situation for further transport, the container was blocked in the seaport.
